Privacy policy
Effective October 27, 2026
Last Stop Miles is an Android app made by Computer Wizard Columbus ("we", "us"). It records the miles you drive on delivery routes. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
In short: your trips and locations are stored on your phone. We don't run servers that receive them, there's no account, and the app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We never sell or share your data.
What the app stores on your phone
- Pickup locations you save: the name you give each one, its address, its map coordinates and its arrival radius.
- Trips: start and end times, miles, the pickup location, and the last stop you entered (address and coordinates).
- GPS points recorded about every 15 seconds while a route is recording: location, time and accuracy. They're used to count your miles and to see where a route started and ended.
- An event log for each route (for example "Arrived at last stop"), shown in Trip history so you can see what happened.
This information stays on your phone. We don't receive it.
How the app uses your location
The app asks for precise location, including "Allow all the time". It uses your location to:
- notice when you arrive at or leave a pickup location you saved, even when the app isn't open;
- once you've been at a saved pickup location for 5 minutes (unless you tapped Not now), watch for you to drive away, so recording can start when you leave;
- record your route while it's recording, so your miles are counted. A notification is always shown while the app is ready to record or recording.
Location is never used for advertising. The app gets your location through Google Play services on your phone; Google's handling of that is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Services that receive some information
A few features send limited information from your phone directly to other services. It doesn't pass through us.
- Address suggestions (Google Places): when you type an address, what you type is sent to Google to suggest matching addresses, along with an area around your saved pickup location so nearby results come first. Picking a suggestion gets its map location from Google.
- Address lookup (Android's Geocoder): an address you type without picking a suggestion is turned into map coordinates, and "Use my current location" looks up the nearest street address. Depending on your phone, this lookup is done by Google or by your phone maker's service.
- Google backup: if backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android includes a copy of the app's trips, GPS points and pickup locations in your phone's backup to your Google Account, so they come back if you reinstall or move to a new phone. It's stored in your Google Account under Google's terms; we can't access it.
- Google Play: if the app offers paid features, purchases are handled by Google Play. We don't receive your payment details.
Files you control
- Automatic backup file: on Android 10 and newer, the app keeps a copy of its data in your phone's Downloads folder (
LastStopMiles-backup.db), so your trips can be restored after a reinstall. It stays on your phone after you uninstall the app. Other apps that you've allowed to read your files may be able to read it. You can delete it with your phone's Files app. - Save a copy, CSV export: these files are only created when you tap the button, and they go where you choose to save or share them.
Permissions
- Location (all the time): to notice your pickup locations and record routes, as above.
- Notifications: to ask you to start a route, show that recording is on, and let you end it.
- Run at startup: to set up pickup locations again and continue a route after your phone restarts.
- Ignore battery optimization: so your phone doesn't stop recording in the middle of a route.
- Display over other apps (optional): for the floating button that shows your miles while you use other apps.
- Internet: for address suggestions and lookups.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach. We use it only to answer you, and don't share it.
Deleting your data
- Delete a trip in Trip history (press and hold it), or a pickup location in Pickup locations.
- Uninstalling the app deletes its data from your phone, except the backup file in Downloads and any copies you saved, which you can delete yourself.
- Your phone's backup in your Google Account is managed in your Google Account settings.
Children
The app is meant for adult drivers. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
